With everything that’s going on in the world at the moment and a lot of people having to make adjustments and work from home we thought it would be a good idea to suggest some home office hacks. So we can make the most of these different times. Discussing on what we can control oppose to what we can’t control.
Morning routine - when working from home it’s very easy to slip into the habit of staying in your pj’s and not actually starting them properly until mid morning g or staying in first gear all day. Getting up showering or just getting changed and wait her ducking out to grab a coffee or even just a quick walk around the block. It’s enough to get you to clear your mind and get ready for the day, so when you get back it’s office time.
Distractions - certainly for us tradies having not always been in the office from the get go, distractions are a huge thing for us. Making sure your tucked away out of sight from the tv or lounge room if there are others around to ensure you can be as focused as possible.
Don’t forget to eat - even though you may feel super productive and miss lunch and eating, make sure you stop get up walk around and eat. You will get re focused and be surprised how much of a difference it makes.
Reach out to your network - working from home can be quite lonely. Reaching out to your network or friends and family ensures your not talking to yourself and going nuts and also keeps you accountable. Discussing what your doing or what you have to get sent off or finished ensures your staying focused and not procrastinating more than you should.
Leaving the work in the office - one of the perks of working from home means you can do your own hours, however this can also be the down side. Certainly in our experience you need to be able to seperate work from personal and don’t push the boundaries too much. You still need to have a personal life even if we are all on restrictions.
Exercise - a fan favourite book written by @matsteinwedeis a great insight positives of exercise. What better way to kickstart your day of being productive.
