Decking Stain - Oil vs Water based vs Natural Grey

Everyone has their own way of finishing external timber.

Oil based, water based and left to naturally go grey.

We wash our timber in Napisan to remove the tannin and marks, then coat it with oil based Cutek CD50.

Oil based stains dry slower allowing you to get a more consistent coverage with no lap marks.

They are more durable in the elements, naturally shedding water to help prevent warping, cracking and splitting.

We are always looking for new and creative ways to prepare and seal external timber.

What’s something that works for you?
